Personal data
When you submit personal data electronically through our website, such as your name, email address, postal address or other personal details, we will process it only for the stated purpose, and will store it securely and not share it with third parties. Our provider automatically collects information such as the browser software, operating system, referring page, IP address, time of access etc. and stores this on the web server. This information cannot be attributed to any specific person without validation against other data sources, and we do not subject it to further analysis unless our website is used illegally.
Comments and data submitted in forms
When website visitors voluntarily post comments or complete forms, the data they enter is stored along with their IP addresses. This is done for security reasons in case visitors post illegal content (libel, left or right-wing propaganda, hate speech etc.). In such cases we have an interest in the writer’s identity.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files used by a web page to store information about the user on their computer while they visit our website. Cookies help us to establish how many users access our web pages and how frequently they do this, and also provide pointers for improving the usability of our content. We use session cookies, which are stored only while you are using our website, as well as persistent cookies that save information about repeat visits. The purpose of our use of cookies is to optimise user experience and to recognise visitors when they come back to the site, allowing us to present an attractive website with interesting content. Persistent cookies only contain an identification number. We do not store your name, IP address or similar information. We do not create individual profiles based on your usage patterns. You may use our website without accepting cookies. You can set your browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox and others) to disable cookies, or limit acceptance to specific websites, or to prompt you each time a cookie is sent. You can also delete cookies from your hard drive at any time. Please note, however, that this might restrict the way in which the website is presented and can be used.
In addition, our website uses cookies from the third-party provider Matomo, which allows web analytics of user behaviour. The user data collected in this way enables us to improve the quality of our website and its content. The data is anonymised by a technical process and is not stored along with other personal user data. The cookies are stored for 90 days.
Matomo
Our website uses Matomo, a web analytics service provided by InnoCraft Ltd., 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand. Matomo stores cookies on your device, which enable us to analyse your use of our website. The information collected in this way is stored exclusively on our server and includes:
- Two bytes of the IP address of the user system accessing the website
- The accessed web page
- The website from which the user accessed the viewed web page (referrer)
- The sub-pages that are accessed from the viewed web page
- The length of time spent on the web page
- The frequency of accessing the web page.
Our website uses Matomo with the setting “Anonymize Visitors’ IP addresses”. This processes IP addresses in a truncated form, thus ruling out any way of tracking personally identifiable information. The software is configured so that the IP addresses are not stored in full, two bytes of the IP address are masked (e.g. 192.168.xxx.xxx). In this way, it is no longer possible to associate the truncated IP address with the visiting device. The IP address sent by your browser via Matomo will not be merged with any other data we collect.
You can prevent analysis by deleting existing cookies and disabling the storage of cookies by changing your web browser settings. Please note, however, that doing this may prevent full use of this website’s functionality. You can change the settings below:

Information on the use of social plug-ins
We use social plug-ins (hereinafter referred to as “buttons”) on this website for the social networks LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube. When you visit the website, these buttons are disabled by default, which means no data is sent to these social networks without intervention by the user. Before the buttons can be used, they must be enabled by clicking them. The button remains active until deactivated or the cookies are deleted. After activation, a direct connection is established with the social network server. The content of the button will then be transferred directly from the social network to the browser and integrated into the website. Once a button has been activated, the social network can start collecting data, regardless of whether the user interacts with the button. If a user is logged into the social network, their visit to this website can be linked with the user’s respective user account. A social network cannot be linked with other websites until the corresponding button is activated there. If a user is a member of a social network and does not want the information that is collected during the website visit to be linked with their stored membership data, they must log out of the social network before activating the buttons of the social network. ÖSB Consulting has no influence on the set of data that the social network collects through its buttons. The purpose and scope of data collection and further processing and use of the data by the social network, as well as any related rights and setting options to protect users’ privacy, are detailed in the privacy policies of the respective social networks.
